Student Voice

You have said you love the blend of the Construction qualification that varies so much in content to give a true reflection of the industry. This could be picking up a trowel to develop bricklaying skills, designing a new family home and the initial insight into architect through to planning your own housing development with the use of science and mathematics. Students feel this subject stands out as a programme they didnt think they would have the chance to experience until the started further education.

You have said you would like more time within a practical construction environment so as a result we are investigating in building state of the art environments within your academy and setting a benchmark for vocational qualifications at key stage 4.

Apprenticeships Related to this GSCE/BTEC

Following completion of the BTEC Level 2 in Construction and the Built Environment you can pursue an apprenticeship in the following vocational trades:

  • Bricklaying
  • Joinery
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Plastering
  • Plumbing
  • Gas Engineer

A-Levels/Higher Qualifications

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment
